Joe Loughborough / Portsmouth, R.I.
Experience earned
at sea.
The perspective of a sailor, captain and yard manager—brought to the care of classic yachts.
Joe Loughborough grew up racing and cruising on the south coast of England. A career running yachts followed: more than 200,000 sea miles on boats ranging from 30 to 105 feet, from Turkey to Bora Bora.
He settled in Newport in 1986, moving into repair, yard management, construction and refit. Today, Loughborough Marine brings that experience together with a network of skilled shipwrights and specialist trades at its Portsmouth yard.
The approach is practical and personal: understand the boat, bring together the right people, and do the work that helps her keep sailing.
