The project.

Santana came from California to Rhode Island for a substantial rebuild. The work renewed her hull structure, planking and deck, with new spars and an interior rebuild forming part of the same project.

LMI managed the restoration with a team of specialist trades, including East Passage Boatwrights as lead shipwrights. The photographic record follows the work from exposed frames through finished cabins and preparation for launching.

LMI with East Passage Boatwrights, Mount Hope Boatworks, Dan De Leiris, Syd Janes, Marty Dever, Gabe Brown, Nordic Marine, James Harrison and James Thompson Marine Carpentry.

Scope of work.

  • Frames and hull planking
  • Deck beams and deck
  • Bulwarks and cap rails
  • New spars and rig
  • Interior rebuild
